Featured Service Oppurtunities
Children with Special Needs - Every week we have children with special needs attend GCR. Our desire is to minister to them and ther parents by creating an atmosphere that both parent and child will love and be comfortable with. So, we are beginning a ministry to children with special needs and looking for people who will be buddies for these children. This won't happen without your involvement! If you have experience in this area and even if you don't, but are willing to serve parents and children in a special way, we would love to talk with you. Contact Anna Moser for more information.
It takes a lot of people to honor all of the commitments we've made to each other and the community. In fact, just to serve the people that come to GCR each week takes over 170 volunteers. That number shoots up even farther once you take into account all of the people at work serving the community and beyond.
While almost every ministry would always welcome more willing volunteers, this page will highlight specific volunteer needs we need to fill and give you a way to make contact with the person seeking help.
Whether you are newly retired and looking for something to keep you busy or just have a couple of extra hours in your month, we have a chance for you to serve and we need you! If you don't see anything that you believe would work for you below, contact Michael Humphries or Tim Baugh and they'll find a way for you to serve.
GCR Service Opportunities
Coffee and Doughnuts - If you don't think this is important, imagine what this place would be like if we stopped providing the 20+ gallons of coffee before service each week! It would look like a scene from the "Walking Dead." Our current team led by Gordon Damon does a great job, but they need a few more volunteers to share the load. If you have limited time, this is a great service for you because you can pick the number of times each month you are available to help. If you'd like to learn more, contact Gordon Damon.
Children's Ministry - We are always in need of people who love working with children to help with our classes on Sunday morning and Wednesday night! Most of our volunteers serve on a 3 month/quarterly rotation. If you're interested in serving in the next rotation, please contact Anna Moser.
Worship Ministry - We need people willing to serve through singing, prayer, and leading communion. If you would like to learn more about these opportunities to serve, please click here and let us know what area you'd like to learn about.
Multi Media Ministry - Every Sunday morning, it takes a team of volunteers to make our times of worship run smoothly. Volunteers help in a variety of ways including running slides and operating the camera. Worried about being underqualified? Don't be! All roles are easy to learn, plus you will be trained in whatever area you are interested. The team is always in need of volunteers! Contact Daniel Warren to volunteer or learn more.
Community Service Opportunities
Samaritan Ministry - If you are handy around the house, the Samaritan Minsitry needs you! This is a great way to put your skills to use to serve others, and you can determine the number of hours you have available to volunteer. This ministry does home maintenance projects for elderly, widows, and single mothers. Contact Valerie Tinker to volunteer or learn more.
Buckner Children and Family Services - This organization is in dire need of foster families to provide homes for the growing number of children in need of a safehaven during times of crisis. For more information, contact Valerie Tinker.
