This class is for newly married to young families with kids.  A fun and “real” class taught by /files/Images/GCR U/Parenting.jpeg“real” couples.  Each week a different couple (some twice) will come prepared to talk to you about their days as a young married coupled, as well as a couple raising kids.  Each session will be a time of stories on do’s and dont’s followed by question, answers and discussion.  What a great way to learn, laugh and love with others who’ve “been there, done that!”

/files/Images/KFK logo 2011 web.jpgFitness preparation for the GCR hosted Kick for Kenya 5K/10K on November 3.  This program will prepare you to run your first 5K or help you reenter the sport of running.  It offers a weekly training program centered around a group run on Wednesday.  The group run starts and finishes at the GCR building.

Throughout this class we will be viewing Jesus' impact on the world through the lens of modern cinema. Roger Ebert once said "most of us do not consciously look at movies." In this class, we will.  Come relax, eat some popcorn, enjoy our time together and LET'S GO TO THE MOVIES.

JAMES - MERCY TRIUMPHS $

James: Mercy Triumphs is a personal study experience five days a week for the 8 video sessions /files/Images/GCR U/James.jpegof this in-depth women's Bible study. James, Jesus' own brother, started out as a skeptic. See how one glimpse of the resurrected Savior turned an unbeliever into a disciple. Bible scholars compare James to the prophet Amos. In other ways, James more closely resembles the Book of Proverbs than any other New Testament book. Topics in this study include: joy, hardship, faith, reversal of fortunes for rich and poor, wisdom, gifts from above, single-mindedness, the dangers of the tongue, humility, and prayer.  Member book $15.

THE LAW OF LOVE - LESSONS FROM THE PAGES OF DEUTERONOMY $

THE JAVA HOUSE

Nairobi Java House is a Starbucks-like coffee shop in Kenya that travelers love to visit, because it just feel/files/Images/GCR U/Java house.jpgs like home. GCR Java House is patterned after the look and feel of Nairobi Java House, our home away from home in Kenya.  At GCR Java House you can get a great cup of coffee, as well as specialty drinks like latte, cappuccino, frozen coffee drinks and bottled soft drinks.  You can even get real Chai Tea, the national drink of Kenya.  Every week, we also feature two different homemade desserts to tempt your taste buds.  The Java House is a place to relax in comfortable surroundings, meet friends and fellowship.  Best of all, the donations go straight to Kenya Widows and Orphans Ministries.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY

Rest assured that while you are enjoying your class, your kids will be doing the same from 7-8 PM in their age appropriate classes located in the North Rotunda.

THE MIX

THE GCR Youth Ministry seeks to engage Junior High and High school students in an uplifting time focusing on what is important in our lives. This fall from 7 - 8 PM, GCR Youth will offer 7th-12th graders a Wednesday night program called “The Mix,” bringing students together to refocus, recommit, and refresh. Through worship, relevant teaching, and prayer, Wednesday night will serve to unify, encourage, equip, and challenge the youth of GCR. The Mix will meet upstairs in the Family Center.
