McAllen Mission Trip
July 12-18, 2009
McAllen, Texas is a special place for our Junior High teens at Golf Course Road Church. This summer will be our 6th summer to go to McAllen and do mission work there. While we are in McAllen we do a Vacation Bible School, with the children from the Church of Christ North. We also do various work on houses, from painting them to building them. It is an exciting trip where we can work hard, make new friends, and share the love of Jesus to those in need.
Here is the schedule for this year:
June 12- leave for Mcallen, Tx @ 7AM
June 13-Work day and VBS
June 14-Work day and VBS
June 15-Work day and VBS
June 16-Work Day
June 17-Schlitterbaun @ Padre and shopping
June 18-Return to Midland @ 6PM
Who Can Go? current 6th and 7th graders
Why? to spread the love of Jesus to the world around us, and to help those in need.
How Much? $250
There are scholarships available. Please contact Dene' for registration.
Requirements to go to McAllen
1) Each participant and their family must help with our garage sale and car wash fundraiser on Saturday, May 9th. Each family must be involved in the setting-up and taking-down of the garage sale, while each student will sign-up for a two-hour shift for the car wash. As we get closer to the fund-raiser, we will have sign-up sheets available.
2) Attend 2 Wednesday service projects during the summer
